Srila Prabhupada-lilamrita in Malyalam 9th Jan 2006 Trivandrum, Kerala:
In the auspicious presence of His Holiness jayapataka Swami Maharaja, the Minister for Labour Affairs, Kerala, Mr.Babu Divakaran released the Malayalam edition of Srila Prabhupada-lilamrita , the official biography of Srila Prabhupada. H.H jayapataka Swami Maharaja presented the very first copy to the minister. Mr Divakaran attended the entire three hour programme and very attentively listened to H.H jayapataka Swami's lecture and attended the special exhibition on Srila Prabhupada's life.
NEW TEMPLE OPENS
New Sri Sri Krsna Balarama Temple opened on jan 10 & 11, 2006 at Tirunelveli, one of the six city corporations in TamilNadu. The city is situated on the bank of Iiver Tamraparni which is glorified in Srimad-Bhagavatam (verses 4.28.35 ,11.5 .39 -40, 10 .79.16),and was also visited by Lord Caitanya (C.c -Madhya 9.219). The ISKCON Temple is situated in Vannarpetai,the heart of Tirunelveli.
YOUTH FESTIVAL
The ISKCON Youth Forum, Nagpur, observed a youth festival on 20th November 2005. More than 350 youngsters attended the festival aptly named 'RESONANCE – The Voice in Your Heart'. Well-known national figure Mr. Chandrakant Raghatate graced the occasion as the chief guest. His Holiness Lokanatha Swami Maharaja, and His Holiness Bhakti Kusum Paramadvaiti Swami Maharaja made the atmosphere auspicious by their divine presence. There were elocution contests, video shows, dramas, and a discourse by His Holiness Lokanatha Swami Maharaja. In his talk Maharaja said, "The youth of India today are facing so much of problems, confusions, depression and even suicides. The teachings of ISKCON can be the guiding torchlight in the lives of all the misguided youth." The discourse was followed by Mantra Rock Concert conducted by Ekalavya Dasa.
