No, I am not talking about cricket. This is about having sharp, clear vision. Doctors call it 20- 20 vision. In order to perform better in this world we need clear vision. What about having 20-20 spiritual vision? How do you get that?

The Bhagavad-gita introd uces us to the extraordinary vision of transcendentalists. In the second chapter it is stated: "Those who have a vision of the truth have concluded that of the nonexistent [the material body] there is no endurance and of the eternal [the soul] there is no change. This they have concluded by studying the nature of both." (Bg 2.16)

The basic premise of having spiritual vision is the ability to distinguish matter from spirit. Although I may claim that the person I see in the mirror is 'me', this 'me' is always changing. There is no endurance of the changing body. That the body is changing every moment by the actions and reactions of the different cells is admitted by modern medical science; and thus growth and old age are taking place in the body. But the spirit soul exists permanently, remaining the same despite all changes of the body and the mind. That is the difference between matter and spirit.

By nature, the body is ever changing, and the soul is eternal. This conclusion is established by all classes of seers of the truth , both impersonalist and personalist. The words existent and nonexistent refer only to spirit and matter.

That is the version of all seers of truth.

WHO CAN HAVE DIVINE VISION?

The divine vis ion in this connection should be clearly understood. Divine means godly. Unless one attains the status of divinity as a demigod, he cannot have divine vision. And what is a demigod? It is stated in the Vedic scriptures that those who are devotees of Lord Viglll are demigods. Those who are atheistic, i.e., who do not believe in Visnu, or who recognize only the impersonal part of Krsna as the Supreme, cannot have the divine vision. It is not possible to decry Krsna and at the same time have the divine vision. One cannot have the divine vis ion without becoming divine. In other words, those who have divine vision can also see like Arjuna.

What if someone tries to see without the help of Krsna?

YOU SEE, YET YOU DO NOT SEE

When one can see that the various bodies of living entities arise due to the different desires of the individual soul and do not actually belong to the soul itself, one actually sees. In the material conception of life, we find someone a demigod, someone a human being, a dog, a cat, etc. This is material vision, not actual vision.

This material differentiation is due to a material conception of life. After the destruction of the material body, the spirit soul is one. The spirit soul, due to contact with material nature, gets different types of bodies. When one can see this, he attains spiritual vision; thus being freed from differentiations like man, animal, big, low, etc., one becomes purified in his consciousness and is able to develop Krsna consciousness in his spiritual identity.

ATTRACTIVE VISION

One should be attracted by the beautiful vision of Krsna. His name is K,sna because He is all attractive. One who becomes attracted by the beautiful, all powerful, omnipotent vision of Krsna is fortunate. There are different kinds of transcendentalists some of them are attached to the impersonal Brahman vision, some of them are attracted by the Supersoul feature, etc., but one who is attracted to the personal feature of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and, above all, one who is attracted by the Supreme Personality of Godhead as Krsna Himself, is the most perfect transcendentalist. In other words, devotional service to Krsna in full consciousness, is the most confidential part of knowledge, and this is the essence of the whole Bhagavad-gita. Karma-yogis, empiric philosophers, mystics and devotees are all called transcendentalists, but one who is a pure devotee is the best of all.
