“Our vision is to address social issues with Krishna consciousness,” says Balabhadra Bhattacarya Dasa, president of They Call Us Friends and former president of ISKCON Atlanta. “Our unique focus is the urban environment, and trying to empower the local people.” The organization’s Earth Day celebration ran from 10 am till 5 pm.

Vaishnavas and Muslims Discuss Peace-building Washington, DC, USA:

The fifth annual Vaishnava-Muslim Interfaith Dialogue was held on April 19 here. After covering topics such as the name of God and “What do we Love When We Love Our God?” during previous years’ meetings, this year’s focused on peace and peacebuilding within the Vaishnava and Muslim traditions.

And while previous meetings were held at a series of retreat centers, this year’s dialogue added a personal touch by being held at the home of ISKCON Communications Director Anuttama Das and his wife Rukmini Dasi in Rockville, Maryland.

Irvine, Kentucky: Adikarta Dasa and his good wife Rucira Dasi, both disciples of Srila Prabhupada, have started a farm of 250 acres named Cintamani Dhama. Surrounded by the Kentucky Appalachian Mountains, the farm possesses natural waterfalls, hiking trails, a wide creek running through it and plenty of natural spring water. Devotees at the farm distribute books at the nearby universities and cultivate local students. At Eastern Kentucky University, local students have started a Bhakti Yoga club.
