The Lord says, “I am Supreme and the Creator of all life,
Even the demigods!”
But we say, “The Lord and demigods are equal,
So worship any one or all!”
Is this intelligence?
The Lord says, “Whatever you do, do it as a sacrifice to Me,
For this is real self-control.”
We advise, “Take a deep breath! Meditate!
Get a Guru! Realize your inner self!”
Is this intelligence?
The Lord says, “Self-realization is
accepting your true identity as My eternal servant.”
And, we argue, “Self-realization is
being proud that the divine is within each one of us.”
Is this intelligence?
The Lord says, “Those who worship the demigods go to them,
While those who worship Me come to Me.”
But we say, “Nah! All paths lead to the same destination,
So worship anyone!”
Is this intelligence?
Is it intelligent to:
Not accept the guidance of the Lord’s bona fide representative
And resort to mental speculation?
Profess compassion and unconditional love towards all
Without making Krishna its focus?
Suggest “serve all,”
When really a person’s misery can be only alleviated by bhakti?
Search everywhere for happiness
When all one needs to do is chant Hare Krishna to be happy?
Without trying to understand Krishna.
how can we claim to be intelligent?!?
